About Jennifer

Jennifer Huchler entered the legal profession shortly after finishing law school in Washington, D.C. She earned her J.D. from American University Washington College of Law in 2019. Before that she completed a Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Florida State University in 2016. The combination of legal training and a background in psychology has influenced how she approaches client interactions and case strategy.

Her legal career began in Virginia. In 2019 she joined Livesay & Myers, P.C. as an associate. Since arriving at the firm she has built experience handling matters that arise in state court and in federal settings. She is a member of the Virginia State Bar and has been active in the Family Law Section since 2019.

Huchler is admitted to practice in Virginia and is also admitted to appear before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. Those admissions allow her to represent clients in a broader range of proceedings, including appeals and federal litigation where appropriate. Her filings and courtroom appearances reflect a practice that spans both trial and appellate work.

Colleagues describe her as methodical in preparing cases and attentive when meeting with clients. She tends to break complex legal issues into clear, manageable steps. That habit of simplifying legal questions mirrors her academic background in psychology, which informs how she assesses client needs and communicates next steps.

Her involvement in the Virginia State Bar’s Family Law Section has provided ongoing exposure to developments in family law practice and procedure. Participation in the section also connects her to practitioners across the state and creates a forum for exchanging practical strategies. She pursues continuing education and follows changes in case law relevant to family disputes and related civil matters.

At Livesay & Myers, P.C., Huchler works as an associate handling family law and related civil litigation in Virginia. She represents clients in state court matters and, when required, in federal courts where she holds admission. Her current practice centers on family law and associated proceedings in Virginia and before the Fourth Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
