Jennifer Gellner is an attorney specializing in estate planning, probate, and tax law, bringing over 25 years of experience to her practice. Admitted to practice in Washington State, she has been a dedicated member of the Washington State Bar Association since 2000. Ms. Gellner earned her Juris Doctor cum laude from Seattle University School of Law in 2000. She distinguished herself academically. Following this achievement, she furthered her legal education by obtaining a Master of Laws (LL.M.) cum laude from the University of Washington School of Law in 2001, enhancing her expertise in tax law.
Throughout her career, Ms. Gellner has actively contributed to both academia and professional organizations. From 2008 to 2018, she served as the director of the Federal Tax Clinic at Gonzaga University School of Law. In this role, she provided invaluable legal assistance to low-income clients while mentoring law students. Additionally, she has held leadership positions within the Washington State Bar Association's Taxation Section, including her role as Scholarship Chair, where she worked to support aspiring tax attorneys through financial assistance. In her legal practice, Ms.
Gellner has represented clients in many complex tax controversies and employment tax matters. Her experience includes managing several trial calendars in the United States Tax Court, showcasing her litigation skills and dedication to her clients. Notably, she has participated in numerous trials, demonstrating her ability to handle the details of tax law effectively. She has also been involved in significant cases, including three instances where attorney fees were successfully obtained from the IRS—an uncommon and noteworthy achievement in tax litigation. As the founder of Gellner Law, Ms. Gellner operates offices in Kent and Spokane, Washington.
