About Janta
Janta Steele trained in two countries before settling into a practice split between the U.S. and Canada. She earned a B.B.A. from the University of British Columbia in 2003 and completed an LL.B. at Queen Mary University of London in 2008. Those degrees bookend an early interest in both business and the law.
Steele’s career has moved between public service and private practice. She spent time in the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia in 2013 as a research officer and legislative assistant. A few years later she worked for provincial ministries in administrative roles, including positions at the Ministry of Jobs, Trade and Technology and the Ministry of Small Business and Tourism in 2016. Those posts exposed her to the operational side of government and to policy work behind the scenes.
Her legal training accelerated in 2018 when she joined Hamilton Duncan in Surrey as an intern and then as a lawyer. She took on a role at RDM Lawyers in Abbotsford in 2020 and then moved to Comfort Davies Smith & Crawford in 2023, where she focused on probate and estate law. In 2024 she joined Alliance Law Group P.S., where her title reflects work in estate, probate and guardianship matters.
Steele holds professional memberships that align with that practice area. Since 2024 she has been listed with the National Academy of Elder Law Lawyers. She is also a member of the Tacoma Estate Planning Council, the Tacoma Pierce County Bar Association and Washington Women Lawyers. Those affiliations connect her to regional networks on both sides of the border.
Her work to date shows steady movement toward elder, estate and probate work. Early roles in government and administration provided a familiarity with statutory frameworks and procedural detail. Court-side practice at law firms built case experience in probate proceedings and estate administration. Colleagues describe her approach as methodical and attentive to procedural deadlines.
Steele is licensed in both Washington and British Columbia and practices from Alliance Law Group P.S. Her recent positions indicate a concentration on estate, probate and guardianship cases, handling matters that range from estate administration to guardianship applications and probate litigation. She represents clients in estate, probate and guardianship matters at Alliance Law Group P.S.
