About Randi

Randi Johnson builds a practice around environmental and natural resource law. She works on complex regulatory and policy issues in the Pacific Northwest. Her background links formal training and hands-on practice across two states.

Johnson earned her J.D. from Lewis & Clark Law School in 2006, completing coursework in Environmental and Natural Resource Law. The law school’s program informed her early approach to cases that touch land use, water rights, and environmental regulation. She entered practice after law school and has maintained an active professional presence since.

She is licensed to practice in Idaho and Washington. Over the course of her career she has represented a range of clients before state agencies and in court proceedings in both states. Her work has involved procedural and substantive questions under state environmental codes and regulatory schemes. She handles matters that require familiarity with permitting processes and administrative appeals as well as litigation when disputes escalate.

Her day-to-day work centers on practical problem solving. That can mean guiding clients through permit applications, advising on compliance with environmental statutes, or preparing for contested hearings. She also deals with natural resource issues that arise from land transactions and development projects. She approaches each matter by identifying the legal touchpoints that will affect outcomes, then addressing those points directly through filings, negotiations, or advocacy in hearings.

Colleagues describe her as someone who pays attention to technical details while keeping an eye on practical results. She navigates the overlap between environmental regulation and land use planning, and she is familiar with the interplay of state and local authorities in the Pacific Northwest. Her bilingual familiarity with Idaho and Washington practice environments helps clients who operate across state lines.

Outside of active casework, she follows developments in environmental law that shape permitting and compliance trends. That ongoing attention informs how she advises clients facing evolving regulatory expectations. She maintains an active practice handling environmental and natural resource matters in Idaho and Washington.
