About Jennifer Carroll

Jennifer Carroll Filla took an indirect route into the law. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of Kansas in 1996, then enrolled at Washburn University School of Law where she received her J.D. in 2000. The combination of social science and legal training shaped how she approaches cases and clients.

After law school, Filla established herself in Colorado. She is licensed to practice in that state and built a practice around client representation in the local courts. Her background in psychology informs her courtroom preparation and client interviews, and she often applies that perspective when assessing case strategy and witness credibility.

Filla moved into private practice work and later joined Fears Nachawati Law Office. At the firm she has worked alongside teams handling a variety of matters. Colleagues describe her as methodical in preparing filings and attentive to detail in discovery. Those traits have carried her through contested hearings and negotiated resolutions.

Her professional path has balanced litigation and client counseling. In daily practice she spends time drafting pleadings, managing discovery, and meeting with clients to explain options and next steps. She also monitors court deadlines and coordinates with experts when cases require technical or medical input. Her training in psychology helps her break down complex information into plain language for clients.

Outside the office she participates in professional associations to stay current on changes in state procedure and case law. She maintains active membership in at least one legal organization, which she uses as a venue for continuing legal education and peer discussion. Those activities feed back into her practice and inform how she handles evolving issues at the firm.

Today Filla practices at Fears Nachawati Law Office in Colorado. Her work centers on representing clients through the firm’s Colorado offices and managing the litigation and client-service tasks that that representation requires.
