Jeffrey Long is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of Oregon. He was admitted to the Oregon State Bar in 1986. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Long is the principal attorney at the Law Offices of Jeff Long, a law firm located in Lake Oswego, Oregon. He has been practicing law for over 39 years, serving clients throughout the state of Oregon.
Mr. Long earned his Juris Doctor degree from Willamette University College of Law in 1986. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at Portland State University, graduating in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science degree. During his time at Portland State University, he was a four-year starter on the Viking Football team.
Mr. Long concentrates his practice in the areas of business law, estate planning, probate, and real estate law. He represents individuals and businesses in matters involving business formation, contracts, estate administration, and real estate transactions. His practice encompasses all stages of legal proceedings, including initial case evaluation, negotiations, and litigation in both state and federal courts.
Throughout his career, Mr. Long has handled cases in the Oregon State Courts and the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon. He has also appeared before the Oregon Court of Appeals. Notably, he has been instrumental in shaping Oregon foreclosure practice, with successful appeals in US Bank vs. Vettrus, 285 Or App 629 (2017) and US Bank vs. McCoy, 290 Or App 525 (2018). Prior to founding his own firm, he worked as an associate at a mid-size litigation firm in Portland for several years.
Mr. Long is an active member of the Oregon State Bar Association. He is also a member of the Oregon Consumer Law Center, where he serves as Chief Counsel. In the community, he has been involved in various local organizations and has provided pro bono legal services to individuals in need. Mr. Long is fluent in English, allowing him to serve the diverse communities of Oregon effectively.
