About Jay L.

Jay L. Edelstein began his legal path with a liberal arts degree in 1976 and earned his J.D. from Widener University Delaware School of Law in 1979. Those early years in law school set a steady course. He has practiced for decades and remains active at the bar.

He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and is also admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Over the years he took on increasingly responsible roles at his firm. In 1999 he became a partner at Edelstein Law, LLP, where he continues to work. That partnership reflects a long tenure at the same firm and an ongoing presence in regional courts.

His peers and clients see a record reflected in professional recognition. He is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell and listed by The American Registry. Those ratings are part of a profile that includes steady involvement in professional organizations. He holds membership in good standing with the Philadelphia Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He is a member of the Defense Research Institute as well.

Edelstein also serves outside the courtroom. He sits on the board of directors for the Maryville Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center. In 2022 he joined the National Crime Victim Association and the American Association for Justice; those memberships are current. This mix of professional and civic involvement shows a lawyer who has kept ties to both organized bar groups and community service.

Clients and colleagues find him in a practical courtroom role. He handles litigation and represents clients in matters arising in state and federal forums, including appeals to the Third Circuit. His work at Edelstein Law, LLP spans filings, hearings and contested proceedings. He has been a partner there since 1999 and continues to maintain an active caseload.

He remains engaged in the legal community through memberships and board service. His practice continues at Edelstein Law, LLP, where he concentrates on civil defense litigation and related matters.
