About Jason
Jason Wasserman moved from consulting into law in the early 2000s. He earned a B.S. from the University of Miami in 1998 and completed his J.D. at the University of Cincinnati College of Law in 2004. Those credentials set the stage for a career that crosses industry lines and courtrooms.
He began his professional life as a consultant. From 1998 he worked at Ernst & Young, then moved to Atos Origin in 1999. In 2000 he served as a project manager at Sierra Atlantic and, the following year, as a senior consultant at Accenture. That period sharpened his project management and analytical skills under client deadlines and technical complexity.
After law school he entered private practice. In 2004 he joined DeHay & Elliston LLP as a lawyer. He moved to Semmes Bowen & Semmes in 2006, continuing to handle litigation and client counseling. Three years later, in 2009, he became a partner at Silverman Thompson. The move reflected a shift to a firm environment where he could lead cases and supervise younger lawyers.
Wasserman is admitted to practice in Maryland and the District of Columbia. He also holds admission to the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia and the U.S. District Court of Maryland. Those admissions allow him to take matters in both state and federal forums. His courtroom work spans state civil matters and federal litigation.
He maintains memberships in several professional organizations. Those include the Maryland State Bar, the Baltimore City Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the Defense Research Institute. He is also a member of both the Maryland Association for Justice and Maryland Defense Counsel. The list reflects a practice that engages with a range of advocacy and defense perspectives.
Colleagues describe him as pragmatic and precise in pleadings and motions. He brings a methodical approach to discovery and trial preparation, informed by his earlier consulting experience. He has handled client matters that required coordination across teams and technical subject matter, drawing on years of project management in the private sector.
He is based at Silverman Thompson, where he continues to handle litigation in Maryland and federal courts. His current practice centers on civil litigation and defense work across state and federal matters.
