About Jason

Jason Tremont has spent more than three decades working in Connecticut’s legal community. He built his career close to home, moving from preparatory school to college, then on to law school in a steady arc that put him in practice by the early 1990s. He is a familiar presence at Tremont Sheldon P.C., where he has served as a partner since 1992.

Tremont graduated from Fairfield Prep in 1981. He went on to Dickinson College and completed a bachelor’s degree in political science in 1989. He then attended the University of Baltimore School of Law and earned his J.D. in 1992. Those years shaped his approach to the work: careful in preparation and straightforward in court.

He joined Tremont Sheldon P.C. as a partner in 1992. Over the years he has stayed in the same firm structure, handling matters and advising clients through the routines and the disputes that drive most law practice. Colleagues describe him as steady and pragmatic; he prefers to let results speak for themselves rather than make claims about style or personality.

Tremont is an active member of the Connecticut State Bar. He has held a spot on the Board of Governors of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association since 2000, a long tenure that points to sustained involvement in professional governance and peer education. That role has kept him engaged with changes in trial practice and with issues that affect litigators across the state.

In the courtroom and the conference room he aims for clarity. He prepares files thoroughly and sets realistic expectations with clients. He also works with younger lawyers in the office, offering guidance drawn from years of practice rather than formal lecturing. His participation in bar and trial lawyer activities has been one way he stays connected to evolving practice norms and to the network of local practitioners.

Outside the office he maintains a low public profile. He is not a frequent author of law review pieces, nor is he widely cited in national media. Instead, his career is marked by steady practice in Connecticut law and long-term participation in local bar activities.

He remains a partner at Tremont Sheldon P.C. and continues to concentrate his practice on serving clients in Connecticut through the firm.
