About Jason
Jason Oxner built an academic foundation that blends law and social science. He earned a B.A. in psychology from Trinity College in 2009. He completed his J.D. at Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law in 2013. The next year he added an LL.M. in International and Comparative Law from St. John's University School of Law.
His early legal work mixed clinic experience, tutoring and entry-level practice. While at law school he worked in a Wills, Probate and Guardianship Clinic and served as a real property tutor. He spent 2012 clerking at the TJ Davis Law Office and had an internship with the West Virginia University Athletic Department in 2014. In the years immediately after law school he worked on transactional matters for Baylor College of Medicine and handled plaintiff-side matters at Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Sorrels, Agosto & Friend.
Oxner moved into leadership roles within a few years. In 2016 he became head civil litigation lawyer at The Bowen Law Office, PLLC. In 2019 he took on a partner role at Oxner Legha, listed in firm records as Oxner Legha, PLLC. His career record also includes an early stint in business sales and several positions that exposed him to both transactional and courtroom work.
Outside the office he holds a mix of community and professional posts. He serves as a director of the Aberdeen Trails Home Owners Association and lists a global advisory role with Nova Scotia Business Inc. He is a member of the Texas Bar College and sits on the board of the Thurgood Marshall Bar Excellence Project, where he has served as secretary. These roles reflect an interest in governance, professional development and community engagement.
Throughout his career Oxner has handled civil litigation, plaintiff representation and transactional matters. His clinic and tutoring work gave him early exposure to wills, probate and real property topics. Later roles expanded that base into health-care related transactions and commercial litigation. Colleagues describe a style that draws on both courtroom experience and transactional training, applied to cases that require careful legal review and a steady procedural hand.
He is licensed to practice in Texas and has built a practice that crosses litigation and transactional lines. He now practices at Oxner Legha, PLLC where he manages a mix of civil litigation, plaintiff-side work and transactional matters.
