About Jason D.
Jason D. Luczak earned his law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law at the Illinois Institute of Technology in 2008 after completing a bachelor’s degree at Ball State University in 2005. He came through a mix of clinical work and research during law school, including a stint as a Criminal Defense Clinic law clerk and service as a research assistant for the Chicago Appleseed Fund for Justice.
Early in his career Luczak held several law clerk positions that put him in courtrooms and research offices. In 2006 he clerked at Cooney & Conway and worked in the Criminal Defense Clinic at Chicago-Kent. He spent time as a law clerk for Knell & Poulos in 2007. After earning his J.D. he joined Gimbel, Reilly, Guerin & Brown, LLP as a lawyer in 2008.
He practices in both Wisconsin and Illinois. Alongside private practice he has maintained strong ties to the legal community through bar memberships in Wisconsin and Illinois and service in local bar groups. He has been a member of the Milwaukee Bar Association since 2008 and holds membership in the Illinois State Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association. He also belongs to the State Bar of Wisconsin.
Teaching and coaching have been part of Luczak’s professional life for more than a decade. He served as an Adjunct Associate Professor of Law at Marquette University Law School in 2014. Since 2008 he has coached Marquette trial teams in national competitions, including the AAJ and ABA contests, and he has coached the Marquette Moot Court Association for the National Moot Court Competition. Those roles reflect sustained involvement in trial advocacy training and mentoring of law students.
Luczak has taken on leadership roles in the local bar community. He served as President-Elect and later President of the Milwaukee Young Lawyers Association, and earlier served as the association’s director and secretary. He also participates on the Milwaukee Bar Association’s Criminal CLE Committee.
