About Jason Astorga
Jason Astorga Switzer built his academic foundation at Michigan State University’s Eli Broad College of Business, where he earned a B.A. in Finance. He went on to earn his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law, graduating in 2008. Those years combined business training and legal education and shaped the way he approaches client problems.
After law school, Switzer entered practice in the Midwest. He is admitted to the bar in Michigan and Illinois and is also authorized to appear before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. Those admissions have allowed him to work on both state and federal matters in the region.
Early in his career he joined Driggers, Schultz & Herbst as an associate. At the firm he has been involved in the day-to-day work of client representation, including drafting pleadings, conducting legal research, and preparing for hearings and depositions. Colleagues describe him as thorough in document preparation and attentive when preparing files for court.
His undergraduate training in finance informs his legal perspective. He approaches legal questions with attention to numbers, contracts and the commercial context that often surrounds disputes. That background also helps when evaluating case costs and potential recovery, and when discussing practical options with clients.
Outside his firm role, Switzer participates in the local legal community. He has been a member of the Oakland County Bar Association since 2012, where he has attended continuing-education programs and local bar events. Those activities keep him connected to procedural developments and to other practitioners across practice areas.
In the office he combines courtroom preparation with client counseling. He tends to favor clear explanations for clients who need practical next steps. He currently practices as an associate at Driggers, Schultz & Herbst, handling client representation and casework across the firm’s practice areas.
