About Matthew
Matthew Ferri trained first as a finance student at John Carroll University. He went on to earn a J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and later completed an M.B.A. at the University of Detroit Mercy. Those degrees frame a practice that blends legal reasoning and financial awareness.
He has practiced in Michigan for many years. In 2008 he became the managing member of the Law Offices of Matthew A Ferri, PLLC. That role established him in private practice and in community-level legal work. In 2021 he launched LifeFocus Planning and serves as its owner. The two practices reflect different stages of his career and a steady move toward client-facing planning work.
Ferri holds accreditation from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. That credential allows him to represent veterans before VA benefit programs. He also completed a probate and estate planning program through the Institute of Continuing Legal Education. Those qualifications inform how he approaches cases involving elder law issues, estates and probate administration.
Colleagues describe him as someone who blends practical business sense and legal training. Cases that touch on financial planning, asset protection and the transition of family wealth are a common part of his docket. He handles documents and court matters alike, drafting wills and trusts, advising on probate procedures and preparing submissions related to veterans’ benefits.
His office work ranges from counseling individual clients to managing procedural tasks in probate court. He has also handled matters that require coordination with accountants, financial advisors and government benefit systems. That multi-disciplinary interaction is a regular element of his workday, and he often guides clients through paperwork and deadlines that can be confusing.
Outside the office he maintains professional memberships and completes continuing education to keep current on changes to probate law and veterans’ benefits rules. He completed the Institute of Continuing Legal Education program to strengthen his estate and probate practice.
Ferri practices in Michigan and combines estate planning, probate administration and veterans’ benefits representation in his current work. He currently focuses his practice on estate planning, probate and veterans’ benefits matters.
