About Jason A.
Jason A. Lanahan built a foundation in the sciences and the liberal arts before turning to the law. He earned a Bachelor of Science from Purdue University in 2006, later added a Bachelor of Arts from Ball State University in 2011, and completed his Juris Doctor at Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law in 2014. That combination of degrees informs how he approaches problems: methodical, attentive to detail, and willing to reframe an issue until it makes sense.
He moved into practice after law school and established himself in Georgia. Over the years, Lanahan has worked on matters that required careful case development and steady courtroom presence. He represents clients in state forums, prepares filings, and manages the practical tasks that keep a case moving forward. Colleagues describe him as the sort of lawyer who pays attention to the small things that can change the course of a case.
Lanahan’s work has been shaped by the variety of his earlier studies. The science and technical training from Purdue trained him in structured problem solving. The arts coursework at Ball State added communication skills and an appreciation for how to explain complex ideas to nonexperts. Mercer law school sharpened the legal tools and introduced him to litigation practice and statutory analysis. He applies those skills when analyzing evidence, briefing legal questions, and advising clients on options.
At Speed, Seta, Martin & Trivett, LLC, Lanahan handles cases for the firm that require careful legal research and practical courtroom experience. He balances courtroom preparation with client counseling and often serves as a hands-on point of contact for clients who need clear answers. He is comfortable handling procedural work and coordinating with experts when technical issues arise.
Outside of casework, Lanahan spends time keeping current on developments in Georgia law and the procedural rules that govern litigation. He aims to provide pragmatic guidance rather than abstract theory. That approach helps clients understand the likely path of a matter and the trade-offs involved in different choices.
Presently, Lanahan practices in Georgia and is an attorney at Speed, Seta, Martin & Trivett, LLC. He focuses on litigation and client counseling in the firm’s areas of practice.
