About James Tenn
James Tenn Jr graduated from Boston College in 1988 with a bachelor’s degree in political science. He earned his law degree from The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law in 1991. Those years shaped his trajectory toward trial work and courtroom practice. He moved from study to practice in a relatively short span, building a practice grounded in litigation.
In 1995 he founded Tenn And Tenn, PA. He established the firm in New Hampshire and has practiced there since. He is admitted to the bars of New Hampshire and Massachusetts and is also admitted to appear before the U.S. Supreme Court. Over the years he has handled a range of civil matters, often taking cases that proceed to trial.
Tenn’s professional life includes active involvement in local and national bar organizations. He serves as president of the Manchester Bar Association and holds memberships in the New Hampshire Bar Association, the Massachusetts State Bar, and the American Bar Association. He is a member of the Daniel Webster American Inn of Court and participates in associations oriented to trial practice, including the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and the New Hampshire Trial Lawyers Association. He also belongs to groups that address particular practice areas, such as the Motorcycle Injury Trial Lawyers Association and the New Hampshire Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
His courtroom work has centered on personal injury litigation. He has tried cases on behalf of plaintiffs and worked on matters that involve serious injury and contested liability. His cases have involved medical issues, motor vehicle collisions, and other incidents that raise questions of negligence and damages. He brings trial experience to settlement negotiations and to litigation strategy. Colleagues describe him as someone who prefers to focus on facts and legal work over rhetoric.
Outside court, Tenn has taken part in the professional life of his legal community. His presidency of the Manchester Bar Association places him in a leadership position among local practitioners. He continues to take part in Inn of Court sessions and other professional events that emphasize trial craft and ethical practice.
Today he practices at Tenn And Tenn, PA, where he represents plaintiffs in personal injury and related civil litigation matters.
