About James
James Rubinowitz completed his undergraduate degree at Emory University in 2013 and went on to earn a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School in 2016. His academic path combined a liberal arts foundation with three years of law study in New York. The timeline placed him squarely in the city’s legal community at a time when court dockets and client needs were shifting rapidly.
After law school, Rubinowitz joined Gair, Gair, Conason, Rubinowitz, Bloom, Hershenhorn, Steigman & Mackauf as a lawyer. He has worked inside a firm known for handling civil matters across a range of contexts. His role has involved the everyday tasks that keep a litigation docket moving: legal research, drafting filings, counseling clients and coordinating with colleagues on case strategy. He has practiced under the rules of New York, applying courtroom procedure and statutory law on behalf of clients.
Rubinowitz holds membership in the State Bar of New York. That affiliation reflects his registration to practice in the state and places him among peers who appear regularly before New York tribunals. He maintains the credentials required to practice and engages with the bar’s professional standards.
Colleagues describe his approach as methodical. He prefers careful preparation over headlines. That manifests in attention to pleadings, timelines and the documentary record. In a firm environment, those habits translate into steady case development and collaboration with other lawyers and support staff.
Outside of casework he has navigated the administrative duties that come with firm practice. Scheduling, client communications and document management take up as much time as courtroom preparation does at certain stages. Those routines are part of the daily work that keeps matters advancing toward resolution.
As of 2026 Rubinowitz continues to practice at Gair, Gair, Conason, Rubinowitz, Bloom, Hershenhorn, Steigman & Mackauf in New York, representing clients and handling matters arising under New York law.
