About James R

James R Strub studied liberal arts at Brown University, earning an A.B. in 1992. He returned to Connecticut for law school and received his J.D. from Western New England University School of Law in 2003. Those formative years set the stage for a legal career centered in Connecticut.

After law school, Strub entered practice and gained admission to the Connecticut bar. He is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut. Those credentials allow him to represent clients in both state and federal forums across the state.

Over the years he has maintained steady ties to professional organizations. He holds membership in the American Bar Association and the Waterbury Bar Association. He is also a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, where he participates in the Planning and Zoning Section and the Business Law Section. Those memberships reflect regular engagement with peers and continuing legal education.

Strub’s work often involves matters that intersect municipal regulation and commercial law. He handles issues related to planning and zoning and addresses business law questions that arise from transactions and regulatory processes. He represents clients before municipal bodies and in court proceedings when disputes reach the judicial level.

At the firm where he maintains an office, Secor Cassidy & McPartland PC, he works alongside other attorneys on a mix of transactional and contested legal matters. His admission to the federal district court complements practice on state matters and allows him to take on cases that cross jurisdictional lines.

Colleagues describe him as a steady presence in local bar circles, and he keeps current through section activities and events. Outside of those professional settings, he has maintained a practice rooted in community concerns and business affairs. He currently practices at Secor Cassidy & McPartland PC, handling planning, zoning, and business law matters.
