About James Joseph
James Joseph Sexton completed graduate study in communication before turning to the law. He earned an M.A. in Communication & Persuasion from New York University in 1998. He then attended Fordham University School of Law and received his J.D. in 2001. Those years of study combined a humanities approach to argument with formal legal training.
After law school Sexton became licensed to practice in New York. He has held membership in professional legal organizations since 2001 and has practiced under that license in the state. Those early career steps established his base in New York’s legal community and set the stage for ongoing work in the region.
Sexton’s professional life has centered on serving clients from two offices. He maintains a Manhattan office as well as a Rockland County office. The two locations allow him to work with clients in both the city and the suburban counties to the north. He splits time between those offices as casework and client needs require.
Colleagues describe Sexton as methodical in his approach to case preparation. He combines the communication training from his graduate studies with the legal reasoning developed at Fordham. That blend appears in how he organizes matters, prepares filings and handles client consultations. Over the years he has kept active participation in bar organizations and other professional networks in New York.
Sexton’s record is rooted in steady practice rather than public profile. He has remained based in New York since his admission to the bar. His work continues from offices in Manhattan and Rockland County, where he serves clients across the state.
