About Bracha
Bracha Etengoff earned a B.A. in psychology from Yeshiva University in 2000. She continued her study of human behavior with an M.A. in psychology from the City University of New York, Queens College, completed in 2002. She then turned to the law and received her J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 2005. Those academic steps — from psychology to law — shape how she approaches disputes and client counseling.
She is admitted to practice in New York. Over the years she has added formal training in mediation to her legal credentials. Her certifications include Divorce Mediation from the Center for Mediation & Training, Elder Mediation from Elder Decisions, and mediation and foreclosure mediation certifications through the New Jersey Administrative Office of the Courts. Those programs gave her practical tools for managing negotiations and for structuring settlements that address both legal and human needs.
Etengoff blends her legal education with a background in psychology to manage conflicts that often have strong emotional dimensions. She works in settings where communication matters as much as law. That means helping parties identify priorities, narrow issues, and explore settlement options. Her approach favors structured negotiation and clear process, rather than prolonged litigation when alternatives are viable.
She runs the Law & Mediation Office of Bracha Etengoff. There she serves clients as both lawyer and neutral mediator, depending on the matter and the role requested by the parties. Her mediation work covers family law matters such as divorce and custody, elder-related disputes, and foreclosure mediation programs. She also assists clients with the legal follow-up that often accompanies mediated resolutions.
Clients and colleagues note the combination of legal training and psychological insight in her practice. The psychology background helps in assessing communication dynamics and in framing proposals that address underlying concerns. The law degree provides the framework for handling statutory and procedural issues that can arise in family and housing matters.
Today she maintains a practice centered on mediation and related legal services from the Law & Mediation Office of Bracha Etengoff, concentrating on family, elder and foreclosure mediation and the attendant legal work.
