About James Daniel
James Daniel Cole earned his Juris Doctor from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law in 2012. He completed his legal studies after several years of classroom work and practical training, emerging prepared for the demands of courtroom practice and legal research. His time at Mercer provided the foundation for a brief but formative early career in federal courts.
While still in law school he worked inside the federal judicial system. In 2011 he served as a semester clerk for the United States District Court for the Middle District of Georgia. The next year he took a law clerk position with The Honorable Robert Chasteen. Those roles involved legal research, drafting memoranda and observing the day-to-day mechanics of federal litigation and case management.
After his clerkships he entered private practice. He joined Parks, Chesin & Walbert, where he has continued to develop his courtroom and advisory skills. At the firm he has worked on a range of matters that draw on his federal court experience and his training in legal writing and procedure. Colleagues describe him as methodical in his preparation and steady under deadline pressure.
Cole is licensed to practice law in Georgia. He has maintained his practice in the state, applying lessons learned in the courthouse to client matters handled at the firm. His background gives him familiarity with both the procedural demands of federal court and the practical realities clients face when disputes move toward resolution.
He remains based at Parks, Chesin & Walbert and continues to handle cases and client matters in Georgia. His current practice focuses on advising and representing clients in matters arising in Georgia.
