About Jake
Jake Stebner built a path to law that began in English literature and moved into courtroom work. He earned a B.A. in English Literature from Walla Walla University, then continued legal studies at the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. He completed his J.D. at Texas Wesleyan University School of Law.
After finishing law school, Stebner established a practice aimed at serving clients in California. He maintains an office under his own name and handles matters through that firm. Over time he has become accustomed to the pace of solo practice. That work brought a mix of client counseling, document drafting, and appearances in state forums.
Stebner’s background in English literature shapes how he approaches legal writing. Clear, concise drafting and careful attention to argument structure are recurring features of his file work. He often handles the written side of disputes, preparing pleadings and briefs. He also spends time meeting with clients to translate legal concepts into plain language and to set realistic expectations about process and outcomes.
As a California practitioner, Stebner navigates local rules and courthouse procedures regularly. His day-to-day practice involves filing and prosecuting matters in state venues and handling pretrial preparation. He runs the administrative side of his firm as well, overseeing intake, calendaring, and client communication. The combination of substantive work and practice management is familiar territory for him.
Outside the office, Stebner’s earlier study in literature continues to influence his approach to law. He treats each case as a narrative that must be organized, supported, and presented. That perspective guides how he prepares witnesses, frames legal issues, and composes written arguments. He currently practices from the Law Office of Jake Stebner and accepts matters arising under California law. His current practice focuses on representing clients in state matters and handling courtroom and written advocacy in California.
