About Jacob S.

Jacob S. Barker took a straightforward route into the law. He completed a B.A. in English at the University of South Carolina in 2005 and earned his J.D. from Washington and Lee University School of Law in 2008. Those classroom years set the shape of a practice built on steady progression rather than headline-grabbing moves.

Fresh out of law school he joined Adams & Reese as an associate in 2008. The early years there gave him a chance to learn firm practice and the mechanics of legal representation. In 2013 he moved to Graybill, Lansche & Vinzani, LLC as an associate, and four years later he became a member of that firm. The path shows a common pattern: successive roles that added responsibility and deeper ties to a single legal community.

Barker is admitted to practice in South Carolina. He maintains local professional ties through membership in the Richland County Bar Association. He also stays connected to legal education and competition by serving as a volunteer judge for the Carol N. Ney National Mock Trial Tournament. Those activities suggest a lawyer invested in the profession’s local institutions as much as in casework.

Outside the courtroom and the office, Barker participates in community and alumni circles. He is listed with the United Way of the Midlands Young Leaders Society and serves as a class agent for Washington and Lee University. These roles indicate an ongoing engagement with civic and alumni networks that complements his firm work.

Colleagues describe his trajectory as that of an attorney who built experience through firm practice rather than public profile. He began in a regional firm environment and moved to a boutique practice where he assumed broader responsibilities over time. The mix of firm roles and volunteer work ties him to the midlands legal scene and to legal training programs for students.

Today he practices at Graybill, Lansche & Vinzani, LLC in South Carolina. He remains active in local bar activities and in mock trial education while carrying the responsibilities of his role at the firm. He currently practices law in South Carolina at Graybill, Lansche & Vinzani, LLC.
