About Jacob A
Jacob A Gurwitz studied political institutions before turning to law. He earned a B.A. in Government and Political Science at the University of Texas at Dallas in 2000. He later completed his legal training at the University of Pennsylvania Law School, receiving his J.D. in 2005. Those academic choices set the stage for a practice centered on courtroom work in Pennsylvania.
He began his legal career after law school and now practices as a lawyer at Feeney & Gurwitz, Criminal Trial Lawyers. The firm name signals the kind of matters he handles. He is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and holds current membership in the Pennsylvania State Bar.
Gurwitz’s work revolves around criminal defense and trial litigation. He represents clients in state courts across Pennsylvania, handling contested hearings and jury trials. His role at Feeney & Gurwitz involves preparation of cases for trial, managing evidentiary issues, and presenting arguments before judges and juries. The day-to-day work combines investigation, motion practice, and courtroom advocacy.
Colleagues and clients encounter a lawyer who spends much of his time on litigation tasks. He prepares witnesses and crafts cross-examinations. He also handles pretrial motions and negotiates where resolution makes strategic sense. The firm’s criminal trial focus means that much of his practice involves urgent and high-stakes matters that require attention to procedural detail and the ability to respond quickly to developments in a case.
Outside of casework, Gurwitz maintains ties to the legal community through his Pennsylvania State Bar membership. That connection keeps him engaged with continuing legal education and developments in state criminal procedure. He continues to practice in Pennsylvania courts and remains based at Feeney & Gurwitz.
He currently practices at Feeney & Gurwitz, where his work centers on criminal defense and trial litigation.
