About Jaclyn Jane
Jaclyn Jane Robertson is the founder and managing partner of JR Law Group, a family law firm located in Salt Lake City, Utah. Since 2005, she has specialized in family law, focusing on divorce and custody matters. Her dual licensure in both Utah and California allows her to serve clients, ensuring that clients receive knowledgeable and comprehensive legal guidance. Jaclyn’s approach is rooted in her focus on advocacy—she skillfully navigates clients through inherently personal and often stressful situations. This gives the support they need during difficult periods. Jaclyn earned her Juris Doctor from McGeorge School of Law at the University of the Pacific in 2004.
Prior to that, she completed her undergraduate studies at Westminster College in Salt Lake City, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in History in 2001. This academic foundation laid the groundwork for her legal career. Before establishing JR Law Group, Jaclyn gained inexperience as a prosecutor with the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s office. During her tenure, she managed hundreds of cases from initial screening through to jury trial verdicts, honing her litigation skills and understanding of the legal system. Her years on the domestic violence team provided Jaclyn with a unique perspective that greatly benefits her divorce clients today. She was appointed as the special victims prosecutor for the juvenile team, where she worked closely with vulnerable populations.
This experience not only deepened her commitment to justice but also enhanced her ability to empathize with clients facing complex family dynamics. At JR Law Group, Jaclyn and her team focus exclusively on family law, offering services in divorce, child custody, child support, and mediation. The firm has received recognition as one of the “10 Best Family Law Attorneys” in Utah, reflecting Jaclyn’s dedication to excellence in her field. She is an active member of the Utah State Bar and the State Bar of California, as well as the American Bar Association. In 2019, Jaclyn founded the Utah Chapter of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC) and has since served on its board. Her involvement in these organizations shows her commitment to staying current with legal trends and best practices in family law.
Fluent in French, Jaclyn also cherishes her personal time. She enjoys exploring the Utah mountains and other beautiful locations with her husband and blended family. Adventuring with her two children around Salt Lake City and beyond brings her joy and balance. Jaclyn's dedication to her clients and her community illustrates her commitment to providing compassionate and effective legal representation in family law matters, ensuring that each client feels heard and supported throughout their journey.
