About Jack L
Jack L Zaremba began his legal path in the Midwest. He earned a B.A. in Political Science and English from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa in 1994. He returned to Chicago for law school and received his J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 2000, where he studied criminal law.
He moved into public service early in his career. In 2003 he served in the Illinois Attorney General’s Office as a criminal prosecutor. That role placed him in state-level prosecutions and gave him courtroom exposure on matters that crossed jurisdictional lines. In 2006 he joined the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office as an assistant state’s lawyer, again handling criminal matters and appearing in trial settings across the county.
After several years in government work, he entered private practice. In 2009 he opened his own firm as partner and owner of the Law Offices of Jack L. Zaremba, P.C. He has handled cases in both state and federal forums and developed practical trial experience from arraignment through verdict. His litigation work has included motions practice, evidentiary hearings and jury trials in the Northern District of Illinois as well as appeals filed in the Seventh Circuit and appearances in the Federal Circuit.
Zaremba maintains active membership in several professional organizations. He belongs to the Illinois State Bar Association and the Will County Bar Association. He has been a member of the Northern District of Illinois General and Trial Bar since 2003. Outside the courtroom he spent time judging collegiate mock trials at Lewis University from 2007 to 2008, helping to evaluate and mentor students preparing for competitive trial practice.
Colleagues and clients see him as a lawyer who draws on prosecutorial experience when preparing a defense strategy. He brings knowledge of courtroom procedure and regional practice norms to case planning. He handles pretrial investigations, motions practice and trial advocacy, and he represents clients in state and federal court in Illinois. He now maintains a private practice that handles criminal defense and trial matters in state and federal courts.
