About J. T. Herber

J. T. Herber III began his formal legal training at Wake Forest University School of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctor in 2001. He earlier attended Lafayette College, concentrating on Government and Law and American Studies and earning a Bachelor of Arts. Those academic foundations set the stage for a career that has moved between courtroom work and community service.

Early in his career Herber joined Williamson, Friedberg & Jones, LLC as a lawyer in 2004. That position placed him in day-to-day litigation practice and exposed him to local and regional matters. Over time he expanded the scope of his admissions and professional activity. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and North Carolina, and holds admission to the bar of the U.S. Supreme Court.

His bar and association involvement runs across several organizations. He has been a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Schuylkill County Bar Association since 2004. In 2008 he joined the North Carolina Bar Association and began working with the American Bar Association’s Trial Practice Committee, a role he continues to hold. Those affiliations reflect steady professional engagement rather than a single institutional tie.

Outside the office Herber has trained and served in emergency response roles. He holds a Firefighter I certification and a Vehicle Rescue Technician credential from Hose, Hook and Ladder Co. #1 of Pine Grove, Pennsylvania. Those certifications indicate hands-on involvement with community safety and rescue operations, activities that demand practical skills under pressure.

Herber’s work has centered on litigation and trial-related practice, supported by his long-standing connection to the Trial Practice Committee of the ABA. He has combined courtroom responsibilities with local bar activity, often working across county lines to manage cases that require appearances in state and federal venues. His admissions before multiple jurisdictions give him the ability to file or appear in different courts when matters require it.

He maintains a presence in several regional offices, including locations in Pine Grove (Ravine), Tamaqua, Orwigsburg, Hegins and Shenandoah, along with a main office. That geographic spread allows him to serve clients across a broad portion of the region while remaining engaged in county-level bar work. He currently practices law from multiple regional offices and maintains admission in Pennsylvania, North Carolina and before the U.S. Supreme Court.
