About Ian Christopher

Ian Christopher Agster earned a B.A. from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 2003 and completed his J.D. at Appalachian School of Law in 2007. His time in law school coincided with a period of steady growth in regional legal education, and he left prepared for practice. The combination of a Virginia Tech undergraduate education and a law degree from Appalachian gave him both a broad liberal arts background and formal legal training.

After law school, Agster established his professional footing in Tennessee. He is admitted to practice in that state and has kept his professional registration current. Over the years he has handled a variety of matters that arise under Tennessee law. He works in local legal circles and has developed a practice that responds to the needs of clients in the region.

Agster maintains memberships in several legal organizations. He belongs to the American Bar Association, the Tennessee State Bar, and the Knoxville Bar Association. Those memberships keep him plugged into continuing legal education opportunities, local court rules, and professional networks. He participates in bar-related programs and attends meetings that shape practice in the communities he serves.

Colleagues describe his approach as practical and straightforward. He favors clear explanations over dense legalese. He prepares filings and communicates with clients in measured terms. When matters require time in court or at administrative hearings, he handles procedural work and filing deadlines carefully, and he organizes cases to meet local requirements.

Outside of formal memberships, Agster’s career has been defined by steady practice in Tennessee courts and by attention to the logistics of running a law practice. He balances client work with the obligations of bar association participation. Recent years have seen him focus on managing caseloads and staying current on state law developments.

He currently practices law in Tennessee and continues to serve clients on matters arising under state law.
