About Parks
Parks Dance entered law school after four years at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where he studied business administration. He completed his B.S. in 2020, then moved to New Orleans to attend Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. He earned his Juris Doctor in 2023 after three years of study that combined classroom work with practical clinic experience.
While at Loyola, Dance worked in the Stuart H. Smith Law Clinic and Center for Social Justice as a student practitioner. That clinic work placed him in court and in client meetings. It also exposed him to the procedural and tactical realities of criminal cases early in his legal training.
Before and during law school he held several positions that shaped his practice. In 2018 he began as a legal assistant at The Lanzon Firm. In 2022 he served as a judicial law clerk for Knox County Criminal Court, observing judges’ decision-making and the courtroom cadence from close range. He also completed an externship with the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office in 2022, gaining prosecutorial perspective on case preparation and courtroom strategy.
After law school, Dance joined The Lanzon Firm as a criminal defense lawyer in 2023. He is a member of the State Bar of Tennessee, admitted in 2023, and maintains an active license. His early career therefore spans roles on both sides of the criminal docket and time advising clients directly.
Colleagues describe Dance as methodical in preparation and forthright in court. He tends to handle misdemeanor and felony matters that move through Tennessee trial courts. The variety of roles he has held — legal assistant, clerk, extern, student practitioner and defense counsel — informs how he evaluates evidence, frames motions and prepares witnesses.
Dance’s courtroom experience is recent but steady. He has moved from observing courtroom procedure as a clerk to arguing motions and representing clients as counsel. That transition has reinforced an emphasis on written work and on client communication, two tasks he took up early while assisting attorneys at The Lanzon Firm.
He continues to practice at The Lanzon Firm in Tennessee, where he represents individuals in criminal matters and handles related pretrial work and hearings.
