About Hunter Reed
Hunter Reed Sargent built a steady legal career that began after he finished law school in 2014. He entered the profession during a busy period for young attorneys, moving through several associate roles before opening his own firm.
He completed undergraduate studies at the University of Oklahoma, earning a B.S. in 2010 in Political Science and Public Administration. He went on to receive his J.D. from Texas A&M University School of Law in 2014. Those years set the foundation for his entry into practice in Texas.
After law school he joined Sawko & Burroughs as an associate lawyer in 2014. Two years later he moved to Minor & Jester, P.C., continuing in associate-level roles. In 2019 he took a position at Leigh Hilton, PLLC, where he spent time as an associate lawyer before deciding to start his own practice.
In 2021 he launched Hunter Sargent, PLLC and now serves as the firm's owner. The move to a solo practice followed several years of experience at small and mid-size firms. That background informed how he runs his office and manages client work.
Sargent is admitted to practice in Texas and maintains his practice within that jurisdiction. Over the course of his career he has handled client matters through the different firms where he worked and now does so through his own office. Colleagues and clients describe him as steady and practical in his approach.
He has maintained ties to the profession since his graduation, and his career path reflects a common trajectory for attorneys who move from associate positions into firm ownership. He balances the administrative duties of running a firm with the day-to-day work of advising and representing clients.
He practices law through Hunter Sargent, PLLC and serves clients in Texas.
