About Hunter
Hunter Lewis began his legal career in the public sector and has carried that thread into private practice. He earned his J.D. from Widener University Commonwealth Law School in 2012 after beginning his studies in 2009. The law school years set a practical tone; he moved quickly into a government role after graduation.
His first recorded post was as a deputy county lawyer at the Navajo County Lawyer's Office in 2012. That early experience placed him inside county operations and the routine legal work that keeps local governments functioning. He spent those years advising on everyday legal questions for county officials and familiarizing himself with the procedural side of local government law.
In 2017 Lewis shifted to private practice as an associate at Holland Law Group. The move broadened his exposure to the demands of client-centered representation and the workings of a private firm. He spent time on matters typical of a mid-sized practice and learned the structures and workflows that guide outside counsel in representing public and private clients.
Lewis returned to municipal government in 2020 when he took the position of Deputy City Lawyer for the City of Nogales. The role added municipal-level responsibilities and closer work with city officials. He handled legal matters that arise in city operations and advised elected and appointed leaders during his tenure.
In 2021 he opened the Law Office of Hunter T Lewis and became the principal of his own practice. The firm reflects the cumulative experience of county and city work together with private-practice perspective. He is admitted to practice in Arizona and operates his office in that jurisdiction. His current practice concentrates on municipal and local government matters in Arizona.
