About Hunter
Hunter Duke studied crime before he studied law. He moved from a public university campus where he learned criminology to a city law school where he focused on injuries and recovery. The trajectory is plain and direct: undergraduate study of criminal justice, then a law degree that settled on personal injury practice.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland, College Park, graduating in 2016. He then attended the University of Baltimore School of Law, completing his Juris Doctor in 2019 and concentrating his studies on personal injury issues. Those years framed his view of the legal system, pairing theory about crime and social harms with practical training in tort law and civil procedure.
After law school, Duke began building a practice in Maryland. He has worked at WGK Personal Injury Lawyers, including time at the Dundalk office. In that setting he has handled claims for plaintiffs who were injured in motor vehicle collisions, on-the-job accidents and other incidents that gave rise to bodily injury claims. He has practical courtroom exposure and experience negotiating settlements on behalf of individuals. The work requires an ability to explain complex medical and legal information to clients, and to press insurers for fair compensation.
Colleagues describe him as methodical in case preparation. He breaks down evidence, organizes medical records and timelines, and pursues depositions when needed. He has handled pretrial motions and settlement talks. He also spends time counseling clients about recovery timelines and what to expect as claims progress. Those interactions are as much about practical planning as they are about legal strategy.
Outside of case work he has continued to follow developments in Maryland tort law. Personal injury practice in the state often involves detailed knowledge of contributory negligence rules, evidence standards and statutory deadlines. Duke applies that knowledge to shape how cases are filed and argued. He also draws on his undergraduate background in criminology when understanding accident reports and investigative materials.
As of 2026 he practices in Maryland at WGK Personal Injury Lawyers and at the firm’s Dundalk office, representing people harmed in accidents and pursuing civil remedies on their behalf.
