About Heidi Doerhoff
Heidi Doerhoff Vollet is a partner at Cook, Vetter, Doerhoff & Landwehr P.C. in Jefferson City, Missouri. She joined the Missouri State Bar in 2001 and the District of Columbia Bar in 2002. The firm, located at 231 Madison Street, specializes in personal injury, business law, estate planning, appeals, and government and administrative law. She earned her J.D. from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law in 2000. She was a member of the Order of the Coif and served as Lead Articles Editor for the Missouri Law Review. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Notre Dame, obtaining a B.A. in 1996.
During law school, she clerked for Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist of the U.S. Supreme Court in 2001 and for Judge John R — Gibson of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit from 2000 to 2001. Her practice focuses on complex business and governmental litigation, class actions, and appellate matters. She has represented clients in both federal and state courts, including state governmental entities, businesses, and individuals. She has appeared regularly in federal district courts, circuit courts, and administrative tribunals throughout Missouri and has handled appeals in the Eighth Circuit, the Supreme Court of Missouri, and the Missouri Court of Appeals. She has also briefed and handled appeals in other federal circuits. Before joining Cook, Vetter, Doerhoff & Landwehr in 2009, she served in the Missouri Attorney General’s office from 2005 through 2009, handling various high-profile matters for the State of Missouri and elected officials.
From 2002 until 2005, she practiced in the Washington, D.C. office of Covington & Burling. She has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America® for Appellate Practice and Consumer Law. For multiple years, she has been named a Power 30 Lawyer in Commercial and Consumer Litigation as a Top 100 Lawyer by Missouri Lawyers Weekly. In 2018, she was recognized by Missouri Lawyers Weekly for the third-largest settlement in Missouri that year. In 2012, she was selected as one of the top 50 women attorneys in Missouri by KC Magazine. She holds an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell peer review ratings, the highest rating for legal ability and ethical standards, and has been recognized as a Super Lawyer for more than a decade. She serves on the Missouri Approved Instructions Committee for civil cases and has been a member of the Federal Practice Committee for the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri since 2015.
She is the Treasurer of the Supreme Court of Missouri Historical Society and the President of the Missouri Bar Foundation. She is active in The Missouri Bar and the community, presenting CLEs on appellate and civil procedure topics. She is a Fellow and current Missouri Fellows State Co-Chair for the American Bar Association Foundation. From 2022-2023, she served as Chair of the Advisory Council for Helias Catholic High School in Jefferson City. She lives in Jefferson City with her husband Kevin and their children — They are members of St. Joseph Cathedral parish.
