Harry Bloch Maring is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1991. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Maring is the principal of The Maring Law Firm, a law office located at 1562 Masonic Ave, San Francisco, CA 94117-4528. He has been practicing law for over 25 years, serving clients throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
Mr. Maring earned his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at Vanderbilt University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. He furthered his legal education by obtaining a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation from New York University School of Law.
Mr. Maring concentrates his practice in the areas of estate and gift tax planning, as well as tax, corporate, and business planning for individuals and entities. He represents clients in matters involving estate planning, trusts, wills, and probate. His practice encompasses all stages of legal proceedings, including initial case evaluation, negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout his career, Mr. Maring has handled cases in the U.S. District Court for Northern California, the U.S. District Court for Alabama, and the U.S. Tax Court. He is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the Fifth, Ninth, and Eleventh Circuit Courts of Appeals, and all state courts in California and Alabama. In addition to his private practice, he serves as an adjunct professor at the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, teaching estate planning for the blended family.
Mr. Maring is a certified specialist in Estate Planning, Trust, and Probate Law by The State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. He is a member of the California Lawyers Association and its Trusts and Estates Section. He has authored chapters on tax planning for farms, vineyards, and ranches, and has lectured on various estate planning topics for the Continuing Education of the Bar. Mr. Maring is fluent in English and enjoys travel, food, wine, and baking rustic breads, boules, baguettes, and biscotti.
