About Harold
Harold Shepley built a path to law that began in the classroom. He earned a B.S. in Political Science and Business Administration from Washington & Jefferson College in 1992. He then attended Capital University Law School, receiving his Juris Doctor in 1995 and taking part in the Capital Law School Legal Clinic’s Tax Assistance Program while enrolled.
Those early clinical experiences put him in front of clients and real tax problems. They shaped how he approached legal work in the years immediately after law school. Rather than only studying theory, he spent time on practical matters that required clear explanations and steady judgment.
In 2004 he founded Harold Shepley & Associates, LLC. He built a small practice that reflects the mix of interests in his academic background: law, business, and tax issues. The firm has served individuals and businesses, and its work has grown out of the kinds of cases and clients he met during his clinic work and early career.
Across more than two decades in practice, Shepley has handled a variety of legal matters. The record in public materials lists his education and the founding of his own firm but does not catalog every case he has taken. What stands out is continuity: an attorney who moved from legal clinic work as a student to founding and running a firm that treats client service as a central task.
Shepley’s approach to clients is practical. He explains options in straightforward terms and prefers to address problems early. He has combined training in political science and business with legal training, which helps when clients need both legal and commercial perspectives. Colleagues and clients describe him as someone who manages paperwork and deadlines methodically.
Over the years he has maintained the firm he founded in 2004, adapting its services to changing needs. He continues to work directly with clients and supervise the firm’s matters. His practice draws on the tax work he began in law school as well as broader legal tasks that arise for private clients and small enterprises.
He currently practices at Harold Shepley & Associates, LLC, handling tax-related matters and other legal work.
