About Hannah
Hannah Rector earned her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 2016 after completing a B.S. in Psychology at Texas Christian University in 2012. Her undergraduate study in psychology informed an early interest in how law affects families and children, a theme that runs through her subsequent work. Law school years included internships and fellowships that connected legal training to policy and advocacy.
Her practical legal experience began before law school, working as a legal clerk at Whitaker Chalk Swindle & Schwartz PLLC in 2011 and providing immigration services at Catholic Charities Fort Worth in 2012. Those roles exposed her to client intake, casework, and the operational side of legal service organizations. During law school she held several placements that reinforced a child-centered perspective: a legal internship with First Star, Inc. in 2014 and a legal fellowship at Children at Risk in 2015. In 2016 she worked as a policy intern at TexProtects, then took a legal internship with Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas in 2017.
After earning her law degree, Rector moved into practice roles in Texas. In 2018 she served as a lawyer at the Law Offices of Elizabeth Parmer. The following year she joined Anderson Legal Group, P.C. as a lawyer. In 2021 she became an associate at Hargrave Family Law. Across these positions she developed experience handling client matters in settings that ranged from private practice to nonprofit legal services. Her day-to-day work has included client counseling, case management, and courtroom appearances when required.
Rector maintains memberships in several professional organizations. She is active in the Dallas, Denton and Collin County bar associations and holds membership in the Tarrant County Family Bar Association. She also belongs to the American Bar Association and the College of the State Bar of Texas. Those affiliations reflect ongoing ties to both local practice communities and statewide professional networks.
The arc of her career shows a steady movement from direct service and advocacy into family law practice. Her background in psychology and her years in child welfare and nonprofit roles inform how she approaches family law questions. Colleagues describe her as methodical and client-oriented, and she draws on courtroom and intake experience accumulated across diverse legal settings.
She is licensed to practice in Texas and practices at Hargrave Family Law. Her current practice addresses family law matters and related client needs.
