About Gregory C.

Gregory C. Starkey built a career that bridges public service and private practice. He completed his undergraduate studies in marketing at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1988 and earned his J.D. from Birmingham School of Law in 2005.

Before entering law, Starkey served as a firefighter for the City of Birmingham in 1984. That early work in emergency response shaped an affinity for hands-on public service. He later turned to the law, completing his degree and moving quickly into practice after graduation.

Since 2005 he has been the owner and managing partner of Birmingham Men s Law Office, LLC. He opened the firm the same year he began his bar memberships, and he has overseen its operations since then. Running a small firm has meant handling a wide range of responsibilities. Starkey manages casework, client relations, and the business side of the office.

He is admitted to practice in Alabama and has maintained active memberships in the American Bar Association, the Alabama State Bar and the American Trial Lawyers since 2005. Those memberships reflect sustained participation in the legal community and ongoing ties to professional organizations that offer resources for trial practice and ethics. He appears primarily in Alabama courts and handles matters that arise under state law.

Colleagues and clients describe Starkey as practical and straightforward. He favors clear explanations over legal jargon. In court he relies on preparation and traditional trial advocacy. Outside the courtroom he focuses on running his practice efficiently and ensuring clients understand their options.

Starkey’s background in marketing informs how he presents cases and communicates with clients. The blend of a business undergraduate degree, years of public-service work, and legal training gives him a varied professional perspective. He has balanced courtroom work with the administrative demands of a small firm for more than two decades.

He maintains an office under the name Birmingham Men s Law Office, LLC in Birmingham and continues to practice actively in Alabama. He currently focuses his practice on representing clients in Alabama state courts.
