About Gordon R.
Gordon R. Goolsby built his path to the law from two different classrooms. He earned a bachelor's degree in history from California State University, Fresno in 1995. A decade later he turned to legal studies at UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law, where he completed his J.D. in 2009.
His first step after law school was a clerkship on a familiar bench. In 2009 he served as a law clerk for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the District of Nevada. That year exposed him to the practical mechanics of federal bankruptcy proceedings and to the day-to-day work of judges and bankruptcy trustees.
He moved into private practice soon after. In 2010 he joined Fox Rothschild as a lawyer. He then practiced at Armstrong Teasdale, LLP in 2012. Those years in larger firms gave him experience on both creditor and debtor matters and on litigation that intersects with bankruptcy practice. In 2014 he launched Goolsby Law, Ltd. and has been a founding partner there since.
Bankruptcy law has been a steady through-line in his career. He has been a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute since 2009. He has also served on the board of the Southern Nevada Association of Bankruptcy Lawyers beginning in 2012 and continuing to the present. Those affiliations reflect ongoing engagement with the community of judges, practitioners and trustees who handle bankruptcy cases in Nevada.
Goolsby is licensed to practice in Nevada. His resume—clerkship in the federal bankruptcy court, subsequent work at regional and national firms, then opening his own firm—shows a career built around bankruptcy work and related commercial issues. He is known among peers for steady courtroom experience and for working through complex case administration. He advises clients on matters that arise under federal bankruptcy statutes and on the state-law issues that often accompany insolvency proceedings.
He practices from his own firm, Goolsby Law, Ltd., and remains active in professional organizations that focus on bankruptcy practice. His current work concentrates on bankruptcy litigation, case administration and creditor-debtor disputes.
