Gordon Philip Firemark is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1992. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Firemark earned his Juris Doctor degree from Southwestern University School of Law in 1992. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at the University of Oregon, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Radio, Television, and Film. During his time at Southwestern, he gained practical experience in entertainment law, which laid the foundation for his future career.
Mr. Firemark concentrates his practice in the areas of entertainment law, intellectual property, and business law. He represents clients in the fields of theater, film, television, and new media, providing legal services that encompass contract negotiations, intellectual property protection, and business transactions. His practice covers all stages of legal work, including initial consultations, contract drafting and review, dispute resolution, and litigation when necessary.
Throughout his career, Mr. Firemark has handled cases in various courts, including the Superior Court of California for the County of Los Angeles and the United States District Court for the Central District of California. He has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal. Prior to founding his own firm, he worked as a partner at The Business Affairs Group, a boutique entertainment law firm in Los Angeles, and as an associate at Neville L. Johnson & Associates, a firm specializing in entertainment litigation. Additionally, he has experience working in the legal and business affairs departments at Hanna Barbera Productions and the MGM/UA Worldwide Television Group.
Mr. Firemark is an active member of the Beverly Hills Bar Association, where he has served as liaison to the Association's Entertainment Law Section and as its former chairman. He has also served on the Boards of Governors of The Los Angeles Stage Alliance, the organization responsible for the annual Ovation Awards for excellence in theater, and The Academy for New Musical Theatre. He is the producer and host of the "Entertainment Law Update" podcast and has taught courses in Entertainment Law at Columbia College Hollywood and Business Law at Loyola Marymount University. Mr. Firemark is fluent in English and has a working knowledge of Spanish, allowing him to serve a diverse clientele effectively.
