About Gillian
Gillian Brady is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. She was admitted to the California State Bar in 1999. Her license is currently in active status. Ms. Brady is the owner and attorney mediator at Finding Common Ground Mediation & Law Services, a firm specializing in family law mediation. The firm is located in Davis, California, and serves clients throughout the state, including Yolo, Sacramento, and surrounding counties.
Ms. Brady earned her Juris Doctor degree from the American University Washington College of Law in 1998. During her time there, she served as Editor-in-Chief of The Human Rights Brief and was recognized as the Best Oralist in the Legal Methods Spring Appellate Competition. Prior to law school, she completed her undergraduate education at the University of California, Davis, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Linguistics in 1991. She was also a member of the varsity crew team and earned the Most Valuable Player award.
Ms. Brady focuses her practice on family law mediation, assisting clients in resolving disputes related to divorce, child custody, and other family matters without resorting to litigation. She has successfully mediated hundreds of cases, helping clients reach mutually acceptable agreements that suit their unique needs. Her mediation services encompass all stages of the process, including initial case evaluation, negotiation, and final agreement drafting.
With over 25 years of experience, Ms. Brady has been dedicated exclusively to mediation since founding Better Solutions Mediation in 2004. In 2016, she acquired Finding Common Ground Mediation & Law Services. She has been admitted to practice before the California Supreme Court, the California Court of Appeal, and the Superior Court of California for the County of Yolo. Additionally, she has served as a lecturer at the University of California, Davis School of Law, teaching courses related to lawyering skills and alternative dispute resolution.
Ms. Brady is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Academy of Professional Family Mediators, where she holds the Certified Advanced Practitioner designation. She is also a member of the California Dispute Resolution Council and has served as a pro bono mediator for Sacramento Pro Bono Mediation. She is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing her to serve a diverse clientele effectively.
