About Gerard Joseph

Gerard Joseph Geiger pursued a broad liberal arts foundation before turning to the law. He studied linguistics, literature and history at the University of Regensburg in Germany in 1981. He completed a Bachelor of Arts in Government & Law and German at Lafayette College in 1982, and earned his J.D. from Dickinson School of Law in 1985. Those years abroad and in liberal arts classrooms shaped an interest in language and legal process that runs through his career.

He is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and holds an AV Preeminent rating from the Martindale-Hubbell peer review system. That peer-reviewed designation appears alongside a county court certification: he is a court-certified mediator for the Monroe County Court of Common Pleas. The combination of peer recognition and a formal role in court-sponsored mediation reflects a practice that blends advocacy and dispute resolution.

Geiger has been active in organized bar work for decades. He has served as president of the Monroe County Bar Association and later held a seat on the Monroe County Bar Foundation board beginning in 2010. He was involved at the state level as well, serving in the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s House of Delegates during 2007 and 2008. He retains membership in the Pennsylvania State Bar and remains connected to county-level bar activities.

His community engagements extend into the arts and education. He served as president of the Pocono Arts Council from 2000 to 2001. He later became president of the Pocono Youth Orchestra beginning in 2011. Earlier in his career he coached the Pleasant Valley High School mock trial team from 1993 to 1996, a role that brought law into a classroom setting and introduced students to courtroom procedure.

Peers and community members have encountered Geiger in courtrooms, bar meetings and cultural boards. He has balanced professional obligations with civic roles over a long career. That steady involvement in both legal organizations and local institutions has been a consistent element of his professional life.

He continues to practice law in Pennsylvania and serves as a court-certified mediator for the Monroe County Court of Common Pleas.
