About Gerald

Gerald Williams entered law after a steady academic run that began at St. Joseph's College in 1973 and continued through a master's degree at the University of Pittsburgh in 1976. He earned his J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law in 1982. Those credentials set the stage for a long career in litigation and firm leadership.

He helped build a practice from the ground up in the early 1980s. In 1983 he was a founding partner of Williams Cuker Berezofsky, a firm that established a presence in regional civil litigation. Decades later he again took the lead in firm formation, becoming a founding partner of Williams Cedar, LLC in 2017. The move reflected a shift in structure but not in the steady thread of courtroom work that marks his career.

Williams is admitted in multiple state and federal forums. His admissions include New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and he is authorized to appear before several federal courts: the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, and the U.S. Third Circuit Court of Appeals. He is also admitted to the United States Supreme Court. That mix of trial and appellate admissions informs how he staffs matters and manages appellate strategy.

Outside the courtroom he has maintained an active role in professional organizations. He is a sustaining member of the Philadelphia Association for Justice and a member of the New Jersey Association for Justice. He also holds membership in the American Association for Justice, Public Justice, and the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association. He serves as a Supporting Fellow of the Roscoe Pound Institute. These affiliations have provided ongoing contact with peers and continuing legal education over a long career.

His office locations reflect the geographic range of his admissions. He maintains offices in Philadelphia and in New Jersey and continues to practice in the state and federal courts where he is admitted. He manages day-to-day firm operations while overseeing litigation strategy and appellate work across those jurisdictions. He currently leads Williams Cedar, LLC and represents clients in matters brought in the courts to which he is admitted.

He continues to lead Williams Cedar, LLC from offices in Philadelphia and New Jersey, handling litigation in the state and federal courts where he is admitted.
