About Gene

Gene Fimbianti began his professional life in a field far removed from courtrooms. He studied physical and biological anthropology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, earning a B.A. in 1990. A decade later he completed his legal training at DePaul College of Law, receiving a J.D. in 2001.

Before law school he worked in law enforcement. Records show he served as a police officer and detective beginning in 1990. That on-the-street experience gave him a practical view of investigations and evidence. It also shaped his approach to legal work later on.

After finishing law school he entered public service as an Assistant District Lawyer in 2001 at the Office of the Will County State's Lawyer. That role placed him on the prosecutorial side of the system and exposed him to courtroom practice, case preparation and negotiation. He maintained his membership in the Illinois State Bar from 2001 forward.

In 2011 he opened his own firm, the Law Offices of Eugene Fimbianti P.C. The move to private practice followed a decade of combined law enforcement and prosecutorial experience. At his firm he handles clients in Illinois and draws on his varied background when addressing legal issues.

Fimbianti has also completed training outside the courtroom. He is an FBI Certified Firearms Instructor, having attended the FBI Firearms Instructor School. That certification reflects additional technical training and an instructional role that complements his earlier policing duties.

People who work with him say he brings a straightforward style to representation. He has moved between investigative work, public prosecution and private practice. That mix informs how he evaluates evidence, prepares for hearings and advises clients. He remains a member in good standing of the Illinois State Bar, a license he first obtained in 2001.

He continues to practice in Illinois at the Law Offices of Eugene Fimbianti P.C., where his work is informed by both his law enforcement background and his years as a prosecutor. His current practice focuses on matters arising in Illinois and draws on his combined experience in policing, prosecution and private representation.
