About Fleetwood
Fleetwood Tilden earned his law degree from Florida State University College of Law in 1990 after completing a B.S. in Finance at Florida Southern College in 1982. His academic path combined financial training with legal studies, a background that he carried into the courtroom and his private practice. He completed law school at a time when crime policy and sentencing reform were prominent topics in Florida legal circles.
Tilden began his public service in 1994 when he joined the Office of the State Lawyer as an Assistant State Lawyer. That role placed him inside the tribunal system early in his career. The position exposed him to the procedures and pressures of criminal proceedings and gave him firsthand experience with trial calendars and court filings.
In 1996 he opened TILDEN LAW and has operated the firm since then. He moved from a government post into private practice and built a caseload centered on criminal matters. Over the years his office handled cases in county and circuit courts across Florida. He represents clients charged with a range of offenses, including driving under the influence and other criminal charges.
Tilden is licensed to practice in Florida and holds admission to the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. He has been a member of both the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Central Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers since 1996. Those memberships have kept him connected to peers and to continuing legal education opportunities that track changes in statutes and appellate decisions.
Outside the courtroom he has taken on community roles. Between 2008 and 2010 he served as a Cub Scouts den leader and also coached Little League. Those activities placed him in volunteer leadership positions and in regular contact with local families.
After more than three decades in the profession, Tilden continues to concentrate his practice on DUI defense and criminal defense work. He represents individuals at pretrial hearings, plea negotiations, and trials. His practice remains based in Florida, where he accepts matters involving alleged driving offenses and other criminal charges.
