About Fisher

Fisher Wise studied philosophy at Samford University before returning to the same school for law, earning his J.D. from the Cumberland School of Law. He took an academic path that mixed the analytical rigor of philosophy with the practical training of a law school in the same campus environment. The result is a lawyer who arrived in practice with a background in careful reasoning and courtroom skills.

He joined the Alabama and Tennessee bars in 2008. Early in his career he worked as a lawyer at Estes, Sanders & Williams in 2009. That experience exposed him to courtroom practice and the routines of litigation in the region. He later set up the Law Offices of Fisher Wise, where he now handles cases from initial charge to trial when necessary.

Throughout his career Wise has been involved in bar and professional groups. He has been a member of the Tennessee State Bar and the Alabama State Bar since 2008. Since 2019 he has belonged to the Chattanooga Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Those memberships place him in networks that focus on criminal defense practice and continuing legal education in both states.

Wise practices in both Alabama and Tennessee. His work has required frequent court appearances, handling of pretrial motions, and trial preparation. Colleagues describe him as methodical in his preparation and pragmatic in his courtroom approach. He aims to evaluate cases on their facts and to choose strategies that respond to the realities of the docket and the client’s situation.

Clients and other lawyers who encounter Wise see an attorney who moves between two state systems. That cross-jurisdictional practice demands attention to procedural differences and to local court cultures. It also means regular travel for hearings and trials, and an ability to coordinate with local counsel when cases cross state lines.

Outside the courtroom he has remained active in professional circles to stay current on developments in criminal law. He participates in meetings and educational programs through the Chattanooga association and the state bars. Those activities inform his courtroom work and his handling of case law and statutory changes.

He practices out of the Law Offices of Fisher Wise and represents clients in criminal matters across Alabama and Tennessee. His current practice centers on criminal defense in both states.
