About F. Jerome

F. Jerome Tapley earned his undergraduate degree at Auburn University before heading to Cumberland School of Law at Samford University for his law degree. He left law school with a J.D. and entered practice prepared for courtroom work and client representation. The academic path combined a regional undergraduate education with a Southern law school known for producing trial lawyers.

After law school he gained admission to practice in both Alabama and Florida. He is an active member of the Alabama State Bar and The Florida Bar. Those dual admissions allow him to take cases and appear in courts across two states. He also holds membership in the Alabama Association for Justice, an organization that keeps him engaged with peers and developments in civil litigation.

Tapley is a shareholder at Cory Watson Crowder & DeGaris. In that role he participates in firm governance and carries a caseload alongside other experienced litigators. His day-to-day work includes preparing filings, developing litigation strategy and representing clients in court when the matter requires in-person advocacy. Colleagues describe him as methodical in trial preparation and attentive to the tactical choices that shape a case.

His practice has included courtroom appearances and negotiation at various stages of litigation. He works across pretrial investigations, motion practice and trial phases. He has handled matters that demand careful factual development and sustained legal analysis. That practical experience informs how he directs discovery and frames arguments in briefs and hearings.

Outside the courtroom, Tapley engages with professional groups that focus on laws affecting civil practice in Alabama and Florida. Participation in bar activities and the Alabama Association for Justice gives him a regular forum to discuss emerging legal issues and rule changes with other lawyers. He uses those opportunities to stay current on procedural developments and enforcement trends that affect his clients.

He maintains an office with Cory Watson Lawyers and performs work across both Florida and Alabama jurisdictions. He continues to serve clients in civil litigation and related legal matters, concentrating his current practice on representing individuals and entities in contested disputes in state courts in Florida and Alabama.
