About Evan Minton

Evan Minton Gardiner earned his juris doctor from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2016 after completing a bachelor’s degree in political science at Flagler College in 2013. He finished law school amid a competitive class and entered practice in the same year. His academic background grounded him in trial procedure and criminal law, subjects he would encounter early in his career.

Gardiner began his legal work as an assistant public defender in 2016 at the Eighth Circuit Office of the Public Defender. He handled a steady docket of misdemeanor and felony matters. That frontline trial experience required quick case assessment, client counseling under pressure, and courtroom advocacy. Those early years shaped his approach to litigation and courtroom preparation.

Outside day-to-day casework, Gardiner has been active in local and state bar activities. He served as president of the Eighth Judicial Circuit Bar Association from 2021 to 2022. Before that, he held leadership roles in the association’s Young Lawyers Division, acting as outreach coordinator from 2018 to 2019 and treasurer from 2019 to 2020. He represents younger attorneys on the statewide level as a member of The Florida Bar–Young Lawyers Division Board of Governors, a position he has held since 2022.

Gardiner’s involvement extends into professional mentoring and ethical practice circles. He joined the James C. Adkins American Inn of Court in 2019 and the Gerald T. Bennett American Inn of Court in 2021. In 2022 he became a Class X Fellow of The Florida Bar Wm. Reece Smith, Jr. Leadership Academy, a program aimed at training emerging leaders in the bar and bench community. Those affiliations have kept him engaged in peer education and the discussion of professional standards.

His career moved from public defense into private practice. He is listed at Bogin, Munns & Munns, where he continues to handle litigation and trial matters. He practices in Florida and maintains ties to the Eighth Judicial Circuit, where much of his courtroom experience was gained.

Gardiner’s practice in 2026 remains centered on trial work and litigation in Florida courts, and he maintains an active role in bar governance and professional development.
