About Yong R
Yong R Oh built his legal foundation at the University of Florida, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics in 2008 and a Juris Doctor in 2011. He stayed in Florida after law school and has practiced under the state's rules ever since. His education set a pragmatic tone for a career that moved between public service and private practice.
He entered public service early. In 2013 he joined the State Attorney’s Office for the Fifth Judicial Circuit of Florida as an Assistant State Lawyer. That role put him in courtrooms and exposed him to the everyday mechanics of litigation, case preparation, and trial work. It was a formative period that shaped how he approaches facts and evidence.
Five years later he joined the Florida Department of Children and Families as a Senior Lawyer. There he dealt with administrative and statutory issues that affect families, agencies, and practitioners. The position required a steady hand on complex, often sensitive matters and familiarity with the intersection of law and public policy.
In 2019 he moved into an in-house counsel role for a private equity group. That stint broadened his experience on transactional and corporate matters and gave him an inside view of how businesses assess legal risk. After that period in-house, he returned to private practice and established his own office.
He holds several state certifications that reflect the range of his practice. The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation has certified him as a Real Estate Broker and as a Florida Athlete Agent. He is also commissioned as a Notary Public by the Florida Department of State. Those credentials sit alongside his courtroom experience and inform the matters he accepts today.
He practices law in Florida through Yong Oh Lawyer at Law, P.A. His daily work blends transactional and agency matters with litigation experience accumulated in public service. He is licensed in Florida and handles real estate transactions, athlete agent matters, notarial services, and related legal work in the state.
