About Evan Keith

Evan Keith Langert built his legal foundation at Florida State University College of Law, earning a J.D. in 1982 with coursework in business and real estate law. Before that he studied at the University of Maryland’s Smith School of Business, graduating in 1978. The combination of business training and specialized legal study set the tone for a career centered on commercial real estate and leasing.

Langert entered the field at a time when commercial markets were changing rapidly. He served as Head Leasing Counsel for the Eastern United States at Glenborough Realty Trust beginning in 1995. In that role he handled complex lease negotiations, prepared and reviewed transaction documents, and worked on portfolio-level issues across multiple states. The position placed him at the intersection of property management, tenant relations, and corporate strategy.

Over the years Langert moved between in-house counsel work and private practice. In 2010 he established the Law Office of Evan K. Langert, LLC, taking on the role of principal and managing member. His practice draws on experience in drafting leases, advising owners and tenants, and resolving disputes that arise out of commercial real estate arrangements. He is comfortable representing both landlords and tenants in matters that range from single-site leases to multi-property portfolio negotiations.

Colleagues and clients describe Langert as steady and pragmatic. He approaches problems by breaking them down into their business and legal components. That method can make a negotiation less adversarial and more practical. He pays attention to contract language and the operational realities that follow signing.

Langert also brings knowledge of business principles to his legal work. His undergraduate business training informs how he counsels clients about risk allocation, lease economics, and the financial implications of lease terms. That background proves useful when lease language interacts with property operations or financing arrangements.

Outside of transactional work, Langert has handled enforcement and defense matters that tie back to leasing relationships. He has experience drafting amendments, handling renewals and extensions, and advising on termination and default scenarios. His years in both corporate and private practice give him perspective on what clients prioritize when a lease becomes contentious.

Today Langert practices from the Law Office of Evan K. Langert, LLC in Maryland. He represents clients in commercial real estate transactions and leasing matters, drawing on decades of experience in both the private and corporate sides of the field.
