Evan Guthrie trained in the liberal arts before turning to the law. He earned a B.A. in political science from the College of Charleston and completed his J.D. at the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2007. Those years on campus shaped how he approaches problems: methodical, attentive to detail, and aware of the broader context in which legal disputes arise.
He set up his own practice in 2010. The firm name is Evan Guthrie Law Office, and it is based in South Carolina. Guthrie has practiced in that jurisdiction since establishing his office. He handles matters in state courts and represents clients in a range of matters appropriate for a small, locally focused practice.
Guthrie also holds a Mediation Certification for Civil and Probate Court from the South Carolina Bar. That credential allows him to serve as a neutral in mediation sessions and to assist parties who prefer negotiated resolution over trial.
