About Erin
Erin McClure earned her law degree at the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah, completing her J.D. in 2018. While at law school she completed a Criminal Law Certification, a credential that signaled an early interest in the criminal justice system and provided additional training beyond standard coursework. Her academic record placed her among a cohort that moved quickly into public service roles after graduation.
Her career path has alternated between public-sector legal work and roles that drew on operational skills. Before entering law school she worked as a marketer and operations analyst for the Utah Municipal Power Agency in 2009. That position involved project coordination and communications tasks that she later described as useful when managing caseloads and client interactions.
McClure returned to the legal field as a law clerk in 2016 at the Salt County district lawyer's office. The clerkship exposed her to trial preparation, file review, and courtroom procedure. It also gave her a closer look at how local prosecuting offices handle charging decisions and plea negotiations. Two years later, in 2018, she served as an assistant prosecutor at the Salt Lake City Prosecutor's Office. In that role she handled casework typical of municipal prosecutors, including arraignments and prosecutorial decision-making, and she gained firsthand experience in courtroom advocacy.
Those years in prosecution inform her approach to client matters today. The training from her criminal law certification and the practical courtroom work helped her develop an understanding of both the evidentiary aspects of cases and the procedural mechanics that matter in litigation. She has experience drafting motions, preparing witnesses, and presenting matters to judges.
McClure now practices at McClure & Stewart Tax Resolutions. Her resume combines public prosecutor experience with earlier operational responsibilities, and her background reflects a mix of litigation and administrative work. She has worked at multiple points in the legal process, from clerking and research to trial-level advocacy.
Colleagues describe her as methodical and detail-oriented in file preparation and in client interviews. Clients who have sought representation through her office encounter an attorney who has seen similar issues from the government side and who applies that perspective in negotiating outcomes. She continues to take on matters at McClure & Stewart Tax Resolutions and handles tax resolution work in her current practice.
